FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

LSAT TUTORING SESSIONS

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY SESSION?

At Apex, we tailor our tutoring sessions to your needs and goals. If you know which sections or types of questions you find most difficult, we encourage you to let us know. If you don’t know which sections present the most difficulties for you, your tutor can help you identify which areas have the most room for improvement. We will then craft a personalized training program designed to guide your sessions, help you improve your performance, and allow you to develop confidence in your abilities. However, if you ever have any specific requests for what you want to cover in your sessions, we’re happy to focus on any area you want to target.

CAN I DO MY SESSION REMOTELY?

Yes, we offer sessions remotely to students across the country, in addition to offering sessions in person in Auburn, AL and Tuscaloosa, AL. If you’d like to set up a remote session, just let us know on the scheduling form!

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Sessions are typically two hours long; we’ve found that two hours gives us enough time to dive deep into the material without it becoming overwhelming. However, every person’s schedule and learning needs are different, so we can always change the session length to fit your needs and goals.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY SESSION?

Because we use official, licensed LSAT® questions during our sessions, you will need to set up an account through LSAC’s LawHub™ (https://www.lsac.org/lsat/prep/lawhub) either before or during your first tutoring session. We encourage students to purchase LawHub Advantage™, which provides students with a year subscription to 58 Official LSAT PrepTests® to use during our tutoring sessions and while studying alone. However, students may also enroll in the LawHub™ program, which contains a handful of Official LSAT PrepTests®. If you would like help setting up your account, your tutor will be happy to walk you through the process. If you already have a LawHub™ or LawHub Advantage™ account, you’re ready to go!

We also encourage students to bring some paper and a pen/pencil to their sessions. That way, it’ll be easy to work practice problems and take notes. However, you can also work problems with just your computer if you prefer keeping everything digitally.

SCHEDULING

CAN I SCHEDULE SESSIONS FOR THE WEEKEND?

Yes, we’re happy to offer tutoring on the weekend.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

We understand that things come up, and sometimes you have to reschedule a session. If you cancel or reschedule a session more than 24 hours in advance, there’s no charge. If you have to cancel or reschedule a session within 24 hours of the scheduled start time, there is a cancellation fee equal to one half-hour of time. That way, we’re able to take care of our tutor’s time and travel expenses while continuing to provide high-quality tutoring services at an affordable price.

If you complete another session within seven days of a cancelled session, the cancellation fee will simply be added to your next session’s bill. If you don’t complete another session within seven days, you will be sent a separate bill for the cancellation fee.

PRE-LAW SERVICES

WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

In additional to LSAT tutoring, we offer law school admissions advising and first-year guidance. As you apply to law schools, we can help you edit and refine your resume and personal statement, prepare for interviews, choose the schools that best fit your situation and goals, and network with admissions representatives. Once you’ve begun your law school career, we can offer guidance on how to handle the stresses of law school and succeed in classes.

HOW DO I GET HELP WITH APPLICATIONS OR LEARN MORE ABOUT LAW SCHOOL?

If you have general questions about law school, feel free to ask your tutor during your session. All of our tutors are either law students or practicing attorneys, so we know what it takes to get into law school and succeed there. If you would like help with your resume, personal statement, or law school applications, just reach out to us directly by email, phone, or text, and we can get you set up with our individualized admissions advising program.
